Facility

Fairfield Child Development Center, an inclusive, self-incorporated, non-profit preschool opened July 8, 2002. The 7,500 square foot school is located at the corner of Donald and Industry drives in Fairfield, Ohio.

Using $40,000 in start-up funds raised through private donations and parent fundraisers, work on the preschool began in the spring of 2002. Parent volunteers did much of the construction work to minimize costs.

FCDC has three classrooms of 875 to 900 square feet, each with its own child-sized bathroom, sink, and drinking fountain. A 3,000 square foot activity room "muscle room" for large motor activities which includes bicycles, climbers, balls, blocks, basketball hoop and parachute play is used daily by each classroom. This colorful, large motor room is decorated with colorful murals and quilts. The school also has a storage room, a teacher workroom and kitchen. An outdoor playground includes a sand table, paint easel, and climbers in the fenced-in grassy area.

The Fairfield Child Development Center relocation and expansion at our Donald Drive facility allowed us to accommodate the needs of more preschoolers. Enrollment was able to increase from 130 children to 196.

On Sunday, August 18, 2002 by proclamation of City of Fairfield Mayor, Erick Cook, it was declared "Fairfield Child Development Center Day". A ribbon-cutting event took place and the school was officially opened for families to tour.
